Hello,

a bit about me:

I am Akitaka Yamada, a fifth-year PhD student in the Department of Linguistics at Georgetown University.

My research is about the relation between the meaning and the form. Especially, I am interested in the way discourse-oriented meanings are encoded in natural languages. My dissertation work explores this interface for addressee-honorific constructions in Japanese.
